See and hearwriters lay bare their innermost thoughts, indulge fantasies, and lash out at a world gone haywire. Come and meet people who, in the words of the WIM motto, "Dare to Write!"

An open mic for the fearless will follow the scheduled readings.

WIM's annual summer reading event this year is a great opportunity to honor distinguished journalist Lillian Browne, who has just been appointed editor-in-chief at The Reporter,Delaware County's official newspaper

Lillian Browne, a nationally recognized journalist, is a Catskills-based writer who grew up on the banks of the Beaverkill River. An inquisitive nature and fearless attitude recently landed her a position working for Gatehouse Media in southern Nevada where she covered stories that drew national attention. Most recently, Lillian was promoted to editor-in-chief of The Reporter, the third woman in the paper's 134 years history to hold this position. At The Reporter Lillian continues to cover topics such government spending, politics and the environment. Lillian is also the editor of Catskill Country Magazine. She joined WIM's Board of Directors in 2014.

The day will include live music: WIM board member Carrie Bradley Neves, who is a cookbook editor and songwriter, will perform some of her original songs. Light refreshments will be served. Donations are welcome and appreciated.

If you have taken a WIM class in the past year and would like to read a 3 minute piece at the event, please contact Jean at jtstone@catskill.net or 607-326-4802.
