By making a gift to the Catskill Center, you are supporting a balanced approach to protecting the natural resources of the Catskill Mountains and promoting the economy of Catskill communities.
The Catskill Center has reached over 11,000 children and teachers with our environmental education programs. We have directly protected over 2,000 acres of unique and critical land. We've initiated Main Street revitalization projects in over 15 Catskill communities. And we've helped achieve practical solutions to numerous issues in the Catskills.
With new Catskill Center programs such as the Riparian Buffer Protection Program and our efforts to design a regional economic revitalization strategy, we are continuing our tradition of balancing the protection of natural resources and promoting the economy of Catskill communities. These programs help ensure there are healthy streams and forests by preserving open space, and improve the Catskills’ tourism-based economy by implementing a regionwide strategy that promotes outdoor recreation and cultural activities .
