Description

A panel of experts will discuss the effects of mercury pollution on the Catskill Region:

The Catskills are a mercury “hotspot”! Precipitation grabbed by the Catskill Mountains

release more mercury pollution than arguably anywhere in the United States.

  • Amy Sauer, Doctoral Candidate at Syracuse University, will discuss the impacts of mercury on wildlife in the Catskills—specifically songbirds and the bioaccumulation of mercury in the foodweb.
