Notice of September 19 Start of Work - Route 23A Slope Repair, Towns of Hunter and Catskill, Greene County

Work on slope repairs at a series of locations along Route 23A between Haines Falls and Palenville is scheduled to start onMonday, September 19.  This work will take place during the remainder of the current construction season and continue through the 2017 construction season.

During construction, there will be alternating one-way traffic at the work locations, controlled by temporary traffic signalswhich will operate around-the-clock (24/7).  No more than two temporary signal pairs will be active at the same time.  In addition, we are currently finalizing plans for periods of time in October during which the entire project area, from just east of Haines Falls to the Catskill Creek Bridge in Palenville, will need to be fully closed to allow for delivery of concrete stabilizer pods to the work locations.  During the full closures, traffic will be directed to a signed detour route using Routes 32, 23 and 296.  As soon as we have confirmed the dates for the full closures, we will get word to you.
