The Annual Summer Gathering

Many thanks to all who joined us at the Erpf Center this past Saturday for the Annual Summer Gathering of the Catskill Center! Attendees enjoyed a chance to meet with one another, the board of directors and our staff. Guests dined on delicious local cuisine prepared by Mary's Cookin' Again of Roxbury, enjoyed drinks from Keegan Ales of Kingston and Eminence Road Winery wines. Kim and Reggie Harris provided the entertainment throughout the afternoon.

The Center honored Geddy Sveikauskas, long time supporter of the Catskill Center, with the 2016 Ginsberg Award, presented by fellow board member Mark Ginsberg. Geddy, as he's known across the Catskills, has been an instrumental leader of the Catskill Center and currently owns Ulster Publishing. Also honored at the Summer Gathering was the Catskill Mountain Club, recipient of the 2016 Evers Award for Excellence, for their longstanding commitment to the region, developing recreational opportunities, often in collaboration with partners like the New York City Department of Environmental Protection and the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation. 

Immediately following the formal remarks, guests were encouraged to enjoy a tasting and tour of the recently opened Union Grove Distillery, across the street from the Erpf Center, in downtown Arkville. The distillery sources a large portion of their apples and grain from New York State to develop their signature Vly Creek Vodka, with a hint of not too sweet apple.
