Opening of the Beaverkill Covered Bridge

The Catskill Center was thrilled to be able to attend the ribbon cutting celebration for the reconstructed Beaverkill Covered Bridge on Wednesday, June 21, 2017. The bridge provides access to the NYSDEC's Beaverkill Campground. On a beautiful Catskills day, we were all able to celebrate this accomplishment and thank all those involved!

Governor Cuomo said what we were all thinking about the day:

"The Beaverkill Covered Bridge is a unique connection that carries travelers across the creek, allowing visitors to enjoy fishing, camping and other outdoor activities along the stream," Governor Cuomo said. "Restoring this treasure to its original charm will draw even more visitors who can experience the attractions and the natural beauty that Sullivan County has to offer."
