December 2020 Flood Resources
The Catskills were hit by significant flooding from snowmelt and rain on December 25, 2020. There are multiple road closures and other areas of damage. Please look for alternate plans in the coming days so we can allow our communities time to repair.

Road Closure Information:
There are currently road and bridge closures on NY 42 and CR 17 in Greene County
State Rt. 214 Chichester to Lanesville/Hunter/Tannersville area, is now OPEN, 1 lane with traffic light. Please use caution.
Goshen Rd between CR 17 and CR 77 in Jewett. The road/culvert is damaged and the road is closed in both directions.
Expect washouts and damage on other roads
Avoid the end of Spruceton Road where flood water left debris
There is a lane closure on NY 23 in Prattsville. A temporary stop light is in place to guide motorists.
Hiking Information
Local streams are still running high and there is likely damage to some trails and trailheads.
The accessible path at Kaaterskill Falls was damaged and does not currently meet accessibility standards. DEC operations staff are working to repair the path.

Donate to First Responders
Many of our local first responders are volunteers. They have worked hard since the flooding began and this is a year where they have already been stretched thin. Please consider donating to fire departments, rescue squads, paramedics, and other volunteer-run emergency workers in the affected areas.
