They turned over rocks, inspected animal tracks, dug deep down into the soil, searched the fields and the tree tops, went into the swamp - all in search of living things of all kinds from raptors to frogs, lichens to grasses.
This all happened at the BioBlitz at Thorn Preserve on John Joy Road, Woodstock. Groups led by biologists and naturalists found a huge amount of life of all kinds.
On June 27th there will be a presentation for the community with photos, maps and a discussion of the findings from the April 2015 BioBlitz sponsored by The Woodstock Land Conservancy and the Catskill Center.
Please join us at 10AM, Saturday, June 27th
Refreshments will be served.
This event is FREE and open to the public.
PLEASE, when visiting Thorn Preserve, always
keep your dogs on leash and on the mowed paths (and pick up after them).
