Catskill Conservation Corps Hosts a Litter Pick-Up At Blue Hole, Sundown, NY

  • Blue Hole Peekamoose Road Sundown, NY (map)

The Catskill Conservation Corps invites volunteers to pick up litter at Blue Hole, the Peekamoose trailhead and Sundown Primitive Camping area on Monday, September 7th from 2pm to 5pm. Volunteers will be working with Catskill Conservation Corps (CCC) staff to remove litter from the roadside, trail, campsites, and vicinity. When we’re finished, enjoy a swim in Blue Hole – easily one of the most beautiful and remote swimming holes in the Catskills!

Volunteers should be sure to wear comfortable shoes and clothes that you don’t mind getting a bit dirty. Dress appropriately for the outdoor conditions and our activities; pack plenty of water and snacks; and bring work gloves if you have them. CCC staff will also provide some light refreshments and we will have some extra work gloves available.

For more information and directions, please call Heather Rolland at 518-628-4243, or email Doug at doug@nynjtc.org. While pre-registration is not required, we’d love to know how many batches of cookies to bake!

The CCC will be hosting additional work trips, litter pick-ups and other volunteer stewardship activities throughout the summer and fall of 2015. To get involved, please visit www.catskillconservationcorps.org/volunteer and fill out the interest form. And keep checking our website and Facebook page too!

The Catskill Conservation Corps is a partnership between the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation and the New York-New Jersey Trail Conference. The CCC aims to increase and support volunteer contributions on projects that protect natural resources and enhance outdoor recreation opportunities in the Catskill Mountains.
