The Catskill Regional Invasive Species Partnership (CRISP) is raising awareness to help you to identify those species that most threaten our Catskill Mountain habitats and what you can do to help to protect the Catskills.

Prevention is the best defense against invasive species, but once invasives are introduced into our area, early detection, rapid assessment and rapid response (EDRR) is a critical second-level defense to prevent the establishment of invasive populations. EDRR increases the likelihood that localized invasive populations will be found, contained, and eradicated before they become widely established. EDRR can slow range expansion, and avoid the need for costly long-term control efforts.
