Come learn more about hemlock health and see an old growth hemlock stand! This will be a somewhat rigorous hike, close to a mile each way and steep. Long pants are highly recommended as the trail is overgrown with stinging nettle at one spot. We will talk about the important impact hemlocks have on ecosystems, the impact of hemlock woolly adelgid, an invader from Japan, and what is currently being done to manage this invasion.
