This week for Catskill Mountain Kids we’re talking about maple syrup! Local maple expert and educator Tim Neu will join us to talk about maple syrup production in the Catskills. We’ll spend some time outside looking for maple trees on our trail and learning about the tapping process, and some indoors making and tasting maple treats. We’re looking forward to a sweet, delicious hour to finish our winter session of CMK!
Catskill Mountain Kids is a year-round weekly daytime program series that celebrates the nature, history and culture of the Catskills. Each session will include some focused learning time, hands-on activities, and outdoor exploration. The program is geared for ages 4-7 but all are welcome. Please dress for the weather/being outside and the possibility of getting messy.
The Winter session will run for 7 weeks and include programs on seasonal themes. We’d love to see families come back every week, but you can also feel free to pick & choose the dates that work for you.
Suggested donation: $2/child (max of $5/family), members free. Donations support the ongoing programs and operations of the Catskill Interpretive Center, a program of the Catskill Center nonprofit organization.
