Outdoors Day

DEC and NYS Parks is offering an Outdoors Day on June 8, 2019, from 10 AM to 3 PM at multiple sites across New York State, as part of Governor Cuomo's Adventure NY initiative. This free, open house event will allow visitors to try out many outdoor recreation activities, and learn techniques from DEC and Parks staff, local organizations and experts.  

Come celebrate Outdoors Day with us at the Catskills Visitor Center! We will have a wide range of outdoor demos and activities for all ages. Please see below for our schedule of planned walks and events for the day!

9:30 - 11:30 Hike the Tan Bark Trail with the Catskill Mountain Club

10:30 - 11:30 - Birdwatching Walk

12-12:45 pm - Geology Walk with Steve “The Dirtmeister” Tomecek 

12-1:15 pm Yoga and Meditative Walk with Pamela Martin

1 - 2pm - Robinsons' Birds of Prey show 

2-3pm - Streamwatch Program at the Esopus Creek access 

3-3:45 pm - Geology Walk with Steve "The Dirtmeister" Tomecek

All ages welcome. This event is free - as always donations are welcome to support the programs and operation of the Catskills Visitor Center, a program of the Catskill Center nonprofit organization.
