I SPY Invasive Species

  • Crumhorn Fishing Access Crumhorn Fishing Access Maryland NY United States (map)

Celebrate the 19th annual Catskill Lark in the Park by learning how to identify invasive riparian and aquatic plants found in the Susquehanna Watershed while enjoying a float down the scenic river.  Join the Catskill Regional Invasive Species Partnership (CRISP), Otsego County Conservation Association (OCCA), and other local partners as we observe invasive (and some native) species growing in and along the shores of the Susquehanna River.

Participants can bring their own kayak or canoe or rent one from Canoe and Kayak, LLC in Portlandville, NY.  All watercraft must be clean and decontaminated before and after the paddle to prevent the spread of Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS). Life jackets will be provided if you don't have one of your own.

Snacks and refreshments also will be provided, though participants are encouraged to bring water and lunch.  We plan to paddle rain or shine so be sure to dress for the weather!  However, in the event of thunderstorms, the event will be rescheduled for Sunday, October 9.

Registration is required! Please register here and feel free to reach out to Sarah Coney at sconey@catskillcenter.org if you have any questions.
