Kick off the winter season with a fun and beginner-friendly outing at the Catskills Visitor Center (CVC) ! Join Moe Lemire, NYS Licensed Guide and founder of Hike On Guides, for an immersive introduction to snowshoeing on the scenic Interpretive Loop Trail.
Together, you’ll learn the basics of snowshoe technique, explore the snowy forested trails around the CVC, and make your way to the Upper Esopus Fire Tower for a beautiful winter lookout experience. This program is designed for all skill levels, perfect for first-timers or anyone looking to brush up on winter hiking skills.
If you don’t have snowshoes, rentals are conveniently available at the Catskills Visitor Center.

A gear list will be emailed to participants before the hike, but please come prepared with non-cotton layers, a warm hat, gloves, a winter coat, sturdy footwear, and enough water, snacks, and lunch for the day.
