This workshop will begin with a brief walk through the current exhibition at the Erpf Gallery (works by 2016 artists in residence at the Platte Clove Cabin) and a discussion of the different interpretations of nature and setting.
Then we’ll take a brief walk outside the Catskills Center and find some subjects to draw and paint in watercolor. There will also be some cut flowers and greenery provided. Weather permitting, we’ll spend time sketching outside. Then we’ll move to the big tables inside and complete our pieces.
Jen will provide tips on drawing, composition and watercolor painting, along with some artist’s secrets on how to draw trees and flowers. Everyone will have a piece of art to take home, and a new perspective on how to interpret the beauty all around us through their own personal art forms.
Artists aged 4 to adult all welcome. All Materials will be provided.
