Ready to experience the beauty of the outdoors in winter? Join us for a beginner-friendly adventure designed for anyone who wants to build confidence hiking in cold and snowy conditions while enjoying the beauty of the Catskills in winter.
Along the way, we’ll cover the basics of winter hiking, including what to wear, what to pack, how to stay warm, and important winter safety tips. We’ll take our time enjoying the scenery while learning how to recognize and prepare for changing winter trail conditions.
No previous winter hiking experience is required. Come prepared to learn, explore, and enjoy the magic of the trail in winter!
What to Bring: Warm layers, waterproof footwear, water, and snacks. Depending on trail conditions, snowshoes and/or traction devices may be recommended. A detailed pack list and information about any additional winter gear needed will be provided closer to the hike.
This is a free event with a $10 suggested donation, but advance registration is required. Registration closes 24 hours before the event.
Please Note: Pets are not permitted at Catskill Center programs and events with the exception of trained service animals assisting their handlers.
