November 5, 2018 ARKVILLE: The 3rd annual exhibit, Function or Form: Utilitarian Art, will be on display in the Erpf Gallery in Arkville, November 19, 2017 through January 4, 2019. It will feature beautiful functional items created by local artists.

An Artist’s Reception will be held on Friday, November 16, from 6-8 PM.

Many handmade items we use daily are not only useful, but are also beautiful, ie. homemade furniture, clothing, pottery, quilts... In 2016, the Catskill Center’s Erpf Gallery hosted the first Utilitarian show to celebrate local people that create art with both function and beautiful form. The show was such a success that the Utilitarian Art show has become an annual event. This year’s show will feature some returning artists and several new artists.

Artists exhibiting in 2018 include: Rosalind Dickinson – pottery; Howard Harrison - lights; Annie Hayes – hooked rugs; Linda Heller - ceramic plates; Susan Kukle – jewelry and floor coverings; Lisa Marie Layman - soaps; Judy Mensch - hand decorated napkins; Betsy Gude - shoulder bags; Michael Tweed - guitars.

Function or Form: Utilitarian Art, is on display November 19, 2017 through January 4, 2019 with an opening reception Friday, November 16 from 6-8pm. The Erpf Gallery, located at 43355 Route 28 in Arkville, NY is open Mon – Fri 9:30 am to 4:30 pm.
