July 14, 2021 -- Arkville, NY: You have questions? We have answers — every day of the week. The Catskills Visitor Center (CVC) has returned to summer hours and is now open seven days a week, 9:30am - 4pm. While the building is closed for renovations, visitors may come and ask questions on the porch and shop for Catskills-centered merchandise ranging from maps to t-shirts to books. All purchases support the Catskill Center. Whether you want general information about the Catskill Park, new Blue Hole regulations, local art exhibits, or brochures — stop by, call or email. Visit the Catskills Visitor Center at 5096 Rt 28 Mt. Tremper, NY, on our website, call 845-688-3369, or email info@catskillcenter.org.

In addition, the CVC has a pavilion, outdoor restroom, and 1.5 miles of nature trails, some of which are Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accessible. If you’d rather go vertical, you may climb the 80-foot Upper Esopus Fire Tower. The fire tower cab is open Friday through Monday and a steward is available from 9:30am-3:30pm to answer questions.

The CVC is following current CDC guidelines: unvaccinated individuals should wear a face covering when unable to maintain 6-feet of distance from others. This includes outside the CVC and at our fire tower.

While we give you the information you need outside, we are hard at work inside installing museum-like exhibits, interactive displays, and informational panels about the region. This is the first major renovation since the CVC opened in 2015. We are planning a grand reopening in the fall. For more information and to be notified about the indoor reopening, join our email list by visiting the Catskill Center website, or emailing us at info@catskillcenter.org.
