Arkville, NY – The Catskill Center for Conservation and Development warmly welcomed several new members to its board of directors during a recent meeting of the board. Since 1969 the Catskill Center has been led by dedicated board of directors who share a deep passion and respect for the region. Thanks to their professional experiences and appreciation for the Catskills, these newest members to the board will strengthen the Catskill Center, and our efforts in the region.

Community volunteers throughout the Hudson Valley are getting out their raingear and clipboards in anticipation of annual breeding migrations of salamanders and frogs, which may occur as soon Saturday, February 25, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) announced today. The volunteers will be documenting their observations as part of DEC's Amphibian Migrations and Road Crossings Project. With this week's unseasonably warm temperatures and the rainy weekend forecast, the 2017 migration may have an unusually early start.
