Celebrating Adventure NY and Improvements to the Kenneth Wilson State Campground

On Friday, July 21, 2017, we had the opportunity to join with our friends at the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, local elected officials and many representatives of Catskill organizations to celebrate the Governor Cuomo's Adventure NY program, which seeks to expand access to healthy, active outdoor recreation; connect people with nature and the outdoors; protect New York's natural resources; and boost local economies.

The Catskill Center, through our advocacy efforts and our leadership in the Catskill Park Coalition has helped establish more than $7 million in funding for Catskill Park projects related to the Adventure NY and NY Works programs.

We were also on hand to celebrate improvements that have been completed at the Kenneth Wilson State Campground, including a new floating boat dock, a new nature trail, an accessible trail to a full accessible fishing platform, a new bridge for that accessible trail and improvements to the restrooms and boathouse. Future improvements include an expanded picnic area and more.
