The third of four monthly economic development winter forums, to be held at the Catskill Center in Arkville, will focus on the role of the Internet and the digital services economy in the region.
Those unable to attend in-person: you may join the meeting via our conference line, 712.432.3148, then enter the code 118 454.
"By sharing ideas, problems and objectives, local businesses and communities throughout the Catskills will benefit as the entire region becomes more of a destination and better able to capitalize on growing tourism," said Geddy Sveikauskas, who will chair the forum.
After selected speakers give five-minute introductory remarks about the impact of the Internet on their businesses and the region, the panelists will discuss similarities and differences among them and possible ways of working together for the benefit of communities and the region as a whole.
In the final part of the Saturday forum, the audience will have an opportunity to ask questions and contribute to the discussion.
The public is invited. There is no fee for admission.
The final forum in the series will be held in April and will discuss second-home tourism and plans and hopes for the Maurice D. Hinchey Catskill Interpretive Center in Mount Tremper.
