Invasive Plant Pull for the Riparian Demonstration Project

CIC Riparian Demo Project 4.JPG

Learn about non-native, invasive plants and how to control them.

The Catskill Center, in cooperation with the Ashokan Watershed Stream Management Program, has created a Riparian Demonstration Project at the Catskill Interpretive Center. You are invited to participate in a clean-up of the project area where we will identify and remove non-native invasive plants. You will learn about these plants, their impact on our local environment, and strategies to control them.

Dress appropriately. Bring bug spray. We will provide gloves and tools. We will be manually pulling out invasive plants.

Following the plant pull there will be a ribbon cutting to officially unveil the Riparian Demonstration Project with a reception and refreshments to follow.
