Governor Cuomo announced a series of actions to promote tourism in the Catskill Mountain region, including holding the first annual Catskill Challenge in summer 2016. Governor Cuomo also unveiled a$7.3 million plan to modernize the gateway to Minnewaska State Park Preserve and better accommodate the growing number of visitors to the stunning Shawangunk destination. In addition, New York State will launch a $5 million Catskill region tourism ad campaign to draw visitors from around the world. The Governor made these announcements while on a “Ride the Catskills” Motorcycle Tour. 

The 12th Annual Lark in the Park will offer exciting hiking, paddling, cycling, fishing, nature walks and lectures as well as cultural and educational events throughout the entire Catskill region.  From Saturday, October 3rd through Monday, the 12th, you can enjoy dozens of outdoor activities during the 10-day Lark celebration, sponsored by the Catskill Center, New York – New Jersey Trail Conference, Catskill Mountain Club, and the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation.

NYSDEC is sponsoring floodplain management training across New York State under a FEMA mitigation grant. The training is geared towards local building and code officials, planners, local elected officials and design professionals.

August 29th, 2015 - MOUNT TREMPER, New York---The Catskill Center announced at its annual Summer Gathering the appointment of Jeff Senterman to the position of Executive Director. The announcement by Jim Infante, Chairman of the Board of Directors, was made at the Maurice D. Hinchey Catskill Interpretive Center, during the summer gathering of the organization’s membership.
