More than three dozen hikers joined the Catskill Mountain Club and New York City Department of Environmental Protection on July 29 to celebrate the opening of a new trail to the summit of Bramley Mountain in Delhi. The 4-mile loop trail, located off Glen Burnie Road, traverses thick forests, a former bluestone quarry, and grassy fields. Hikers who reach the summit can see portions of the Catskill High Peaks and surrounding farmland. The trail marks the third such collaboration between the nonprofit Catskill Mountain Club and New York City DEP. The previous two trails – Shavertown Trail and Palmer Hill Trail – were also built on City water supply lands in Delaware County.
