Catskill Mountain Kids: Sweets

  • Maurice D. Hinchey Catskill Interpretive Center 5096 New York 28 Mount Tremper, NY, 12457 United States (map)

In honor of Valentine’s Day this week’s Catskill Mountain Kids is all about sweets! Join us for a delicious tour through history as we build on the previous session on snow & ice and make our own ice cream! We’ll also explore some of the traditional baking techniques that Catskills families relied on before the days of modern ovens or electricity.

Catskill Mountain Kids is a year-round weekly daytime program series that celebrates the nature, history and culture of the Catskills. Each session will include some focused learning time, hands-on activities, and outdoor exploration. The program is geared for ages 4-7 but all are welcome. Please dress for the weather/being outside and the possibility of getting messy.

The Winter session will run for 7 weeks and include programs on seasonal themes! More details will be added as the dates get closer. We’d love to see families come back every week, but you can also feel free to pick & choose the dates that work for you.

Suggested donation: $2/child (max of $5/family), members free. Donations support the ongoing programs and operations of the Catskill Interpretive Center, a program of the Catskill Center nonprofit organization.
