We are very happy to announce that the Catskill Center was today awarded a Capacity Grant through the New York State Conservation Partnership Program, a public-private collaboration funded through the Environmental Protection Fund (or EPF) and administered by the Land Trust Alliance and the NY State Department of Environmental Conservation.  

Since the early 1800’s and the beginning of the American Landscape movement, the Catskills have remained an enduring source of artistic inspiration for generations of artists. In keeping with this long tradition, a Sculpture Park focusing on the artists and art inspired by the Catskills has been created at the Maurice D. Hinchey Catskill Interpretive Center (CIC).

Construction began last fall and steadily continues. The Maurice D. Hinchey Catskill Interpretive Center is named in honor of the retired US Congressman who initiated and enthusiastically supported the development of the Interpretive Center for over three decades.

There's no better way to help the Catskills than to join us in the capitol building in Albany! We'll be joined with 41 members of the Catskill Park Coalition advocating for a line item in the state's Environmental Protection Fund (or EPF).
