Catskill Center Welcomes New Staff Member

May 3, 2021 – Arkville, NY: The Catskill Center welcomes award-winning journalist Allison Dunne to the organization's new position of Communications Manager. Allison is a Hudson Valley resident and has been involved in environmental issues in the region for years as a reporter. “We are very excited to have Allison join our team to help us communicate about the unique region that is the Catskills, and about the extensive work we do to protect the environmental, cultural and economic resources of the area,” said Catskill Center Executive Director, Jeff Senterman.

Allison will oversee communications for the entire organization, delivering impactful stories while raising awareness of the Catskill Center's work and accomplishments.

About Allison Dunne

Allison comes to the Catskill Center from NPR affiliate WAMC Northeast Public Radio, bringing years of experience as Hudson Valley Bureau Chief. She looks forward to using her skills as a communicator to relay the stories of the Catskill Center, the Maurice D. Hinchey Catskills Visitor Center (CVC) and the region as a whole - from on the ground, along a trail, atop a mountain or at a Catskills business.

Along with covering a number of environmental, cultural and conservation issues for public radio, Allison has a commitment to furthering diversity and inclusion in her work, which will blend well with the Catskill Center's same goal. She is the recipient of an Edward R. Murrow regional award for her reporting.

Allison earned a Bachelor of Science in Journalism, with a minor in English, from Boston University. She currently resides in Dutchess County, New York.
