The Geology of the Devonian

The Geology of the Devonian: In the Heart of the Catskills will be on display at the Erpf Gallery June 4th through July 30, 2016. This exhibit will merge the scientific geological writings of Robert and Johanna Titus with the exquisite fossil photographs of Art Murphy. An opening reception will be held on Saturday, June 4, from 3-5 PM, at the Erpf Center in Arkville.

Public Event at Catskill Center to Address Climate Change and How to Solve It

New Yorkers are feeling the effects of climate change now. For some, climate change is a business, environmental or public-health concern. Others ponder the implications of a warming world for their children and the world’s most vulnerable populations. Many of us are wondering “Why Is climate action urgent?” and “What can I do?”

The Catskill Center announced the appointment of Markley Boyer to Chair, at its most recent meeting of the Board of Directors. Mr. Boyer previously served as the Board’s Treasurer alongside long-time Chair Jim Infante. Three new members joined the board. Board member Camilla Lancaster was appointed to Treasurer.

Let’s Build a Modern Park - Catskill Park Awareness Day, Tues. Feb 9th, 2016

Recently the Catskill Park Coalition, made up of dozens of organizations representing the Catskill region, has met with our state’s legislators to request equitable support for the Catskill Park and Forest preserve, as well as the larger Catskill region.
